With an operational range of 300 miles, the 1/4-ton truck became the primary light wheeled transport vehicle of the United States military and its allies in World War II, as well as the postwar period. The M60 is a main battle tank developed by the United States as a successor to the M46, M47, and M48 in order to combat the new T-54A tank fielded by the Soviet Union. The M60A1 tank is an improved mass-produced version of the M60, with production beginning in 1960, four years after the prototype of the original M60 was completed. The turret was changed from the M60's "turtleshell" shape to a thicker shape with front armor and a wider internal volume. The tank's excellent maneuverability, powerful engine and 105mm tank gun L7A1 made it an excellent tank with a good balance of offense and defense; it has become the standard main battle tank for the U.S. military and other Western countries. About 20,000 of this tank have been made, and it has become the best-selling tank. Classic Kit tank A1360 - M10 GMC (U.S. Army) (1:35). Model tanku ke slepení. Velikost: 1:35; 19,5 cm. Informace o originálu: Americký stíhač tanků M10 sloužil za druhé světové války. Po vstupu Spojených států do konfliktu a vytvoření protitankových jednotek Tank Destroyer Force byl potřeba stroj, který by nové prapory vybavil. Poté, co byly předchozí modely kritizovány za špatnou konstrukci, zažádala armáda před listopadem 1941 o vozidlo s kanónem v plně otočné věži. Prototyp M10 vznikl již na začátku roku 1942, armádě se dostal do rukou v dubnu. Po požadovaných změnách na trupu a věži byla upravená verze v červnu 1942 připravena na výrobu pod označením 3-inch Gun Motor Carriage M10. Nesla totiž 3palcové (76,2 mm) dělo M7 v otočné věži posazené na upraveném šasi tanku M4A2 Sherman. Výroba běžela od září 1942 do prosince 1943. M10 byl co do množství nejdůležitějším stíhačem tanků Spojených států v druhé světové válce. Tento stroj v sobě spojoval přednosti v podobě tenkého, ovšem zkoseného pancíře, spolehlivého hnacího ústrojí tanku M4 Sherman a dostatečně silného protitankového děla instalovaného ve věži s otevřeným vrškem. I přestože ve srovnání se silnějšími německými tanky jako Panther a s příchodem silnějších a lépe navržených strojů, které ho měly nahradit, byl M10 již zastaralý, setrval ve službě až do samotného konce války.
