Prototyp tanku Crusader vznikl v roce 1939 jako křižníkový tank a bylo vyrobeno asi 5 300 kusů; stal se základem pro proud následujících britských tanků, jako jsou Cromwell, Comet, Centurion a Chieftain. Během války používala britská armáda dva typy tanků: křižníkové tanky a pěchotní tanky. Křižníkové tanky byly rychlejší a lépe vyzbrojené než pěchotní tanky a měly za úkol vést protitankový boj, ale v Africe bojovaly proti německým tankům Panzer III a Panzer IV. První tým Crusaderů bojoval na frontové linii v bitvě u Fort Capzo v červnu 1941 až do konce severoafrické kampaně v Tunisku. Tato stavebnice od Border Models je zcela novým výliskem!
