Barvy mohou být mezi sebou míchány a ředí se Airbrush Thinnerem (71261 17ml, 71361 60ml, 71161 200ml). Pro vytvoření efektů se mohou míchat i alkoholem a lakem. Barvy před použitím dobře protřepejte a můžete rovnou nakapat do airbrush pistole. Barvy můžete míchat i ředit přímo v kalíšku pistole. Po nástřiku barvy schnou velmi rychle. V průběhu práce je dobré občas nakapat Airbrush Thinner pro zpomalení schnutí barvy uvnitř pistolky, barva neztratí žádnou svou vlastnost. Doporučuje se také nakapat 1 kapku Airbrush Flow Improver na každých 5 kapek barvy, aby se prodloužila doba schnutí barvy na špičce jehly. Airbrush Cleaner (71099 82ml, 71199 200ml) se používá při výměně barvy za jinou barvu k vyčistění a promazání pistolky, dále k čištění jehly a k opravám nebo sundání barvy z modelu. Barvy Model Air jsou připraveny k použití pro trysku 0,2mm bez nutnosti ředění. Pokud ředíte, tak nikdy ne více jak 30%. Tlak kompresoru nastavte na 0,75-1,1 BAR. Laky můžete nanášet přímo, mohou se ředit Airbrush Thinnerem a při více vrstvách doporučujeme pěti minutový časový odstup. Po zalakování jsou barvy odolné olejům, glazurám, tempertýnu a lehkým otěrům alkoholem.
